COMSATS Lahore Hosts Insightful Seminar on Entrepreneurship, Advertising, and Leadership Featuring Ahmed Kapadia

COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, organized a seminar titled “Entrepreneurship, Advertising and Leadership” under the Department of Media and Communication Studies, featuring Chairman Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) and CEO Synergy Advertising Pvt. Ltd., Ahmed Kapadia, as the keynote speaker.

The session brought together students and faculty for an engaging discussion on advertising, leadership, creativity, and the evolving media landscape. During the seminar, Ahmed Kapadia shared insights from his professional journey and highlighted the importance of adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning in the advertising industry.

Addressing students, he discussed the creative thinking and strategic planning behind successful campaigns for leading brands, including Suzuki, KFC, Roshan Digital Account, and Raast. He emphasized that impactful advertising requires a strong understanding of consumer behaviour, market trends, audience engagement, and storytelling.

Ahmed Kapadia also reflected on memorable moments from his career, including the 1996 Cricket World Cup campaign featuring Salman Ahmad’s iconic song “Hai Jazba Junoon Tou Himmat Na Haar,” which became widely recognized across the country.

The seminar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by opening remarks by Dr. Sohail Riaz, Head of the Department of Media and Communication Studies. He highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration and termed the session a valuable learning opportunity for students. He also acknowledged Ahmed Kapadia as a mentor and source of professional inspiration.

During the interactive session, students engaged with the speaker on topics including creativity, leadership, career growth, and emerging advertising trends. Ahmed Kapadia encouraged students to strengthen their practical skills alongside academic learning and remain prepared for changing industry demands.

The seminar concluded with remarks by Dr. Ayesha Mirza, who thanked the guest speaker and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to organizing more industry-focused learning sessions in the future.

Following the seminar, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yar met with Ahmed Kapadia in the presence of Dr. Sohail Riaz to discuss potential collaborations between the Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA), Media Studies, and IRCBM, including the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen academic and professional partnerships.

The Pakistan Advertising Association also appreciated the hospitality extended by COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, and acknowledged Dr. Sohail Riaz for facilitating the session and making the engagement possible. The association reiterated its commitment to supporting meaningful industry-academia linkages that contribute to learning, collaboration, and professional development within Pakistan’s creative and media sectors.
