Bank Alfalah Legends Arena to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness Through Padel Tournament
On the occasion of Pinktober Breast Cancer Awareness month, Bank Alfalah Legends Arena partnered to promote the padel tournament in collaboration with TAMS. The event was held on 17 October 2026, which brought together women and young participants to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage community participation through sport.
The tournament builds on Bank Alfalah’s previous partnerships supporting breast cancer awareness and treatment. In 2025, the Bank pledged PKR 14.6 million towards treatment for 37 breast cancer patients through its partnerships with Indus Hospital and Health Network and Cancer Foundation Hospital. The funding was intended to support diagnostics, surgery and medical care for patients requiring financial assistance.
Earlier, in 2024, Bank Alfalah collaborated with Roche Pakistan and Cancer Foundation Hospital to support breast cancer treatment, with a combined contribution of PKR 10.75 million towards medication and treatment for five patients. The Bank has also conducted Pinktober awareness sessions in collaboration with healthcare organisations, including Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chughtai Lab and the Samina Alvi Foundation.
Mehreen Ahmed, Group Head of Retail Banking at Bank Alfalah, who also participated in the tournament, emphasised the importance of an active lifestyle for women and the role of early detection in saving lives.
“Staying active is essential for women’s mental and physical health. In Pakistan, 1 in 9 women are at risk of developing breast cancer in their lifetime, which can be avoided. An early detection of this can save lives. Having cancer is a devastating condition for both the patients and their families, and clearly much more effort is required to arrest this.
We should come forward not only to create awareness but also to work towards early detection of breast cancer. I am proud to be part of a Caring Bank that supports initiatives benefiting our communities,” she said.
The tournament extends these efforts by using sports to promote breast cancer awareness and community participation. The tournament also supported Indus Hospital’s Al-Hasna’s program for early screening and treatment of breast cancer.
Through its healthcare partnerships and community initiatives, Bank Alfalah continues to support breast cancer awareness, access to treatment and women’s participation in activities that promote health and wellbeing across Pakistan.
