TikTok announced a new set of initiatives to help people better identify and understand AI-generated content on the platform to ensure that they have a safe digital experience. As generative AI continues to transform how content is created and shared, the company is expanding its efforts to promote transparency through new educational resources, enhanced spam detection, and deeper collaboration with industry partners.
As AI unlocks new opportunities for creativity and self-expression, TikTok continues to invest in the tools, partnerships, and safeguards that help people confidently navigate AI-powered experiences while supporting authentic content and creator trust.
Helping People Understand, Explore and Create with AI
Helping people make informed decisions starts with education. To strengthen AI literacy, TikTok has partnered with the News & Media Literacy Alliance (NAMLE) and renowned deepfake researcher Henry Ajder to develop a practical guide that helps people better understand AI technologies, recognize AI-generated content, and use AI tools responsibly. In the coming weeks, TikTok will be launching an in-app AI literacy hub in Pakistan, providing educational resources whenever users search for AI-related topics. The hub will offer practical guidance on identifying AI-generated content and navigating AI-powered experiences with greater confidence.
“We believe people should have context, confidence and control over their experiences with AI on TikTok. We continue to invest in technologies, partnerships and educational resources that help people spot AI-generated content, understand how it’s created, and use these tools creatively and responsibly,” said Tom Varghese, AI Lead for TikTok’s Global Public Policy team.
TikTok is also continuing to invest in trusted organizations that promote AI literacy. Since launching the initiative in November 2025, partners including No Filtr and Raspberry Pi have produced educational content that has collectively generated more than 200 million views. TikTok has committed over US$4 million to the program to date and will continue expanding its investment to reach more communities worldwide.
Strengthening Protections Against AI-Generated Spam
Generative AI is creating exciting new possibilities for storytelling and creative expression, but it can also be misused to produce large volumes of spam that undermine authentic creators and user experience. TikTok has long prohibited spam and continues to remove it at scale, with more than 86 million fake accounts removed during the first quarter of this year alone. To stay ahead of evolving threats, the company will soon begin testing enhanced detection systems designed to identify accounts dedicated to posting AI-generated spam, particularly in areas where misleading content could affect public trust or well-being, including politics and current affairs, financial advice, and health-related information.
Showcasing Pakistan’s growing AI creator community
Across Pakistan, creators are embracing AI to educate, entertain and inspire their communities. Creators including @rooshtech, @draqee4 and @aabdul.moizz are helping audiences discover and better understand AI tools through tutorials, demonstrations and educational content. Meanwhile, creators such as @muboy_, @ahadanimates, @umairperwaiz_ and @thehuzaifasajjad are exploring how AI can support animation, visual storytelling and new forms of digital creativity on TikTok. By presenting complex technologies through engaging and locally relevant content, these creators are helping more people understand how AI can be used responsibly to learn, create and bring new ideas to life.
Advancing Industry Collaboration for Greater AI Transparency
As more creators adopt AI tools, TikTok continues to strengthen the technologies that help people understand when content has been generated or significantly altered using AI. Building on its position as the first video platform to implement C2PA Content Credentials, TikTok is now joining the C2PA Steering Committee to help advance industry-wide adoption of transparent AI content standards.
Till date, TikTok has labeled over 3 billion videos using a combination of Content Credentials, creator-applied labels, and its proprietary invisible watermarking technology, making it easier for users to identify AI-generated or AI-enhanced content.
Supporting AI’s positive impact
These initiatives are part of TikTok’s broader commitment to ensuring AI remains a tool for creativity, discovery, and positive user experiences. We continue to invest in building creative AI tools for our community, such as Smart Split and AI Outline, alongside features like Manage Topics that enable users to choose how much AI-generated content they see. As AI technology continues to evolve, TikTok will keep investing in education, transparency, and innovation to help people create, discover, and engage with content safely and confidently.
