inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, has announced a nationwide pledge to distribute 15,000 helmets to drivers, reaffirming its role as an industry leader in promoting road safety in Pakistan. The pledge was formalized in collaboration with the City Traffic Police Lahore, underlining the shared vision of creating safer roads and a culture of responsible mobility.
\nDr. Fahad Ahmad, SSP City Traffic Police added: \u201cThis partnership with inDrive reflects our shared vision of safeguarding everyday commuters. We appreciate inDrive\u2019s proactive approach and continued investment in road safety, and we\u2019re pleased to support initiatives that benefit workers and promote safer working environments across Punjab.\u201d
\n\u201cBy equipping drivers with helmets, we aim to reduce risks, encourage responsible riding habits, and help ensure that every journey ends safely. Our partnership with Lahore Traffic Police demonstrates how public and private stakeholders can work together to protect the people who keep our cities moving,\u201d said Awais Saeed, Country Head, inDrive Pakistan.
\nThe initiative comes at a critical time, as Pakistan continues to face challenges around road safety awareness, low helmet usage, and rising accident rates among motorbike riders. With motorbikes forming the backbone of Pakistan\u2019s gig economy, powering both mobility and delivery services, the risks for drivers remain significant.
\ninDrive has consistently championed fairness and safety across its operations. This pledge builds on its broader strategy to embed safety at every level: from in-app features such as real-time ride sharing and SOS alerts, to training programs, financial empowerment, and collaborations with public institutions.
